Yesterday, I told you about the
history aspect of our nature hike. Today I share with you the nature study aspect of our hike. This park afforded us the opportunity to see butterflies, a wide variety of trees, animal tracks, sea life and more. Here is a sampling of the photos we took.
Great Southern White Butterfly
Stinging Nettle
Catepillar (we've yet to do identification)
Live Oak Tree
Southeastern Five-Lined Skink
Fiddler Crabs
Gopher Tortoise Burrow
Oyster Bed
Raccoon Track
Tomoka River
A portion of a good sized sandbar
Happy Homeschooling!

ReplyDeleteThose were fun pictures to look at! It seems you could just do this park for a term of history and nature study.
ReplyDeleteRichele.. I think I could! We went back yesterday too. I think we'll be there a lot.
