Yesterday the children and I were in Orlando where we visited the Mcdonald's which bills itself as World's Largest Entertainment McDonald's & PlayPlace. Twenty-three years ago, I worked at this particular McDonald's. Trust me. It's not the same place.
Only in Orlando, Florida would Mickey D's be such a theme-park type restaurant (competing with that other famous Mickey?) In fact, very similar are the two mickey's ordering process. First, stand in line to place an order then wait in line again to pick up the order. I'm sure it's the most efficient way of handling all the tourists. We locals aren't particularly thrilled with the line game. But we chose to go there, therefore we chose to be in line.

A quick run-down:
- Two stories. One for eating and one for game playing
- Two kitchen-service areas: one for McDonald's usual menu and the other for the Gourmet Bistro foods (paninis, sandwiches, pastas, belgian waffles, etc)
- Two PlayPlace areas: Toddler and Older Children
- Big game room on the top floor
- Food prices are tourist-targeted (so a big higher than other local Mickey D's) and prices for the games is low (which actually makes it OK that the food prices are higher.)
All in all, I thought it was a fun way to spend the afternoon. As a single mom.. I don't see us doing it often. I do recommend it highly if you're in the Orlando area. You know you're gonna hit a McDonald's anyway. May as well have fun with it and get out of the Florida heat.
